Sequin-tial Moebius_1

We chose the Sequin-tial Moebius by designer, Carrie Carpenter for our CAL because of its simplicity to stitch with spectacular results! Featured in the February 2015 issue of Crochet World magazine, the original was crocheted in Classic Sequins Lite from Universal Yarn which features gorgeous color changes sprinkled with sequins making this yarn a knock-out choice.

To join us for the CAL, you’ll need the Sequin-tial Moebius pattern which is a free download on the Crochet World magazine website.

The CAL will begin on Januaray 28 which will give you enough time to purchase your yarn and take advantage of the upcoming sale celebrating Annie’s yarn website relaunch.  Annie’s Yarn Shop will offer 20% off all yarn January 13-19. We’ll include the link for the sale next week, so make sure to visit the blog for your savings!

In the meantime, take a look at our suggestions from the Annie’s website for your Sequin-tial Moebius. We’ve selected four different yarns to fit any budget:

Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Hipster You’ll need 5 skeins of this soft, touchable bamboo-blend yarn. The slinky drape of this ribbon yarn with its beautiful color striations will make a show-stopping scarf at a budget price!

Universal Yarn Bamboo Pop is another reasonably priced yarn that will give awesome results. This cotton/bamboo blend would be a perfect choice for a warmer-weather scarf. The smooth texture and subtle sheen allow the color variations and your beautiful crochet stitches to shine. You’ll need 3 balls to crochet up to the largest size.

Crystal Palace Danube For colder climates, this yarn is the perfect option. Silky rayon and nylon fibers spun with soft wool add sheen and warmth to this yarn with it’s gentle color variations. Purchase 5 skeins to cover all sizes of this medium-priced yarn.

Noro Kibou would make a luxurious scarf for those ready to splurge a little!  Noro yarns are known for their unique color blends that produce artistic results. You’ll need 3 skeins of this scrumptious cotton, wool, silk blend yarn.

Is there more information coming on the challenge?

    • Carol Alexander says:

Shari, we hope you’ll join us as we crochet Carrie Carpenter’s beautiful Sequin-tial Moebius. There will be 2 more posts with tips from the designer, but the Crochet-Along is meant to be a fun way to work on a project at your own pace. The pattern is free and you can use any yarn you like. We hope you’ll crochet along with us and visit the Crochet World blog often!

    Hi,
I really like this pattern, I purchased the Crochet World magazine just for this pattern. But I am finding it kind of hard to follow. Are these post of a tutorial type nature?

    Thanks

    • Carol Alexander says:

Michelle, if you send your specific questions, I will make sure Carrie Carpenter, the designer of the Sequin-tial Moebius addresses them.

  3. Shari says:

Yes, I’m making the scarf. I thought there would be more information and tips, as well as a place for us to ask questions and chat with others.

    • Carol Alexander says:

Shari, there are 2 more blog posts coming from the designer. And you can ask questions on the blog and Carrie will answer them.
You can chat and post pictures on the Crochet World group page on Ravelry. We plan on sharing your finished projects on the blog when the CAL is done.
      Have fun!

Can anyone help me with this pattern? I’ve completed the first row, turned my work and did the chain three at the beginning of the second row, but I’m confused as to where the dc goes. the pattern reads: Row 2: Ch 3 dc in same st as beg ch-3….so does the double crochet go in the first stitch of the chain three that I did at the beginning of row 2??? Thank you in advance for any help with this 🙂
