I know folks read a name for a pattern or see it in the magazine and think that can only be for that holiday, but it so isn’t the case. Take our cover project the Easy Christmas Throw pattern by Katherine Eng. The name implies it’s just a “Christmas” pattern. With a shift in color combos it would be perfect for any of the upcoming holidays. Let’s take a walk through some options….

For Thanksgiving, using Premier Basix as the worsted weight yarn of choice: pecan, linen, pumpkin, goldenrod and juniper

For Hanukkah, using Plymouth Encore Worsted as yarn of choice:
wedgewood, winter white, denim heather, light grey heather and lite blue

For Kwanzaa, using Red Heart Super Saver as yarn of choice:
black, red hot, tea leaf, cherry red and green tones

For Winter Solstice, using Premier Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted as yarn of choice:
sunshine, snow white, really red, silver and lemon

Never let colors or a name hold you back from making the designs from the magazine personal and truly yours! Enjoy creating your own color combinations and be sure to post your creations to social media with #crochetworldmag so we can all see what you have made!
