Gracing our June 2023 Crochet World cover is the Mélange Sampler Throw by designer Kathleen Berlew. This throw is worked up in Patons Canadiana, which is a worsted weight acrylic yarn that comes in 42 amazing colors. (You can find several color option on sale here.) The stitch sampler has 7 stripes of different stitch patterns. You are sure going to have fun creating this piece and learn some fun stitch combinations!

In the issue we have a great image of the throw but I thought it would be extra helpful if I could supply you with an upclose view of each of the stitch patterns. (Sorry, I am not listing row numbers with these images as they may give away too much of the pattern for folks who haven’t purchased the issue yet.)

This stitch pattern features small clusters separated by rows of crossed stitches.

Then we have chain spaces with a different sort of double crochet groupings.

This super cool every row crossed stitch pattern.

And then puff stitches galore in the next section.

Followed by groupings that create what look like diamond shapes.

Another section of crossed stitches.

And then the last section is made up of large clusters, chain spaces and single double crochets. It is all surrounded by a few rounds of dc and sc for a polished finish.
What color would you make this in for your house? If you create this beautiful piece, before to share it on social media with #crochetworldmagazine. Or pop over on our Ravelry forum and start up a conversation with us and other fans about it!
