Winner's Circle
Meet The Winner
Glenda Winkleman

Glenda Winkleman lives in Jersey Shore, Pa. with her husband, Gary. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. Besides crochet, Glenda enjoys quilting, gardening and quiet times. "I've been crocheting for over 30 years," says this busy lady. "I was taught as a teenager by both grandmothers. In turn, I taught my daughter, Laurie, who now helps crochet the backgrounds for some of my designs."
When she was in her early 20s and a stay-at-home mom, Glenda began designing as a way to make extra money. "I entered every crochet contest I could find," she told us. "Once I began winning, I found I liked the idea of making money doing something I love to do. Now I design fulltime." She also runs a home-based business called Victorian House Needlework Company, selling crochet hooks, knitting needles and quilt kits on-line.
Our winning designer loves cross-stitch afghans. They allow her more creative options with the design details. Glenda's Autumn Garden Throw was inspired by her love of flowers. "With all the new yarns coming on the market, I still get excited about what my next project will be!"
