4 1/2 inches in diameter, excluding legs
Medium (worsted) weight yarn: 1 1/2 oz/75 yds/43g black
Rnd 1 = 1 inch in diameter
Materials listed will make a set of 4 Coasters.
Rnd 1: With black, ch 4, 9 dc in 4th ch (first 3 chs count as first dc) from hook, join with sl st in 4th ch of beg ch-4. (10 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (20 dc)
Rnd 3: Rep rnd 2. (40 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 3 dc, [2 sc in next dc, sc in each of next 3 dc] around, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten off. (50 sc)
Rnds 1-4: Rep rnds 1–4 of Back. At the end of rnd 4, do not fasten off.
Twist 4 chenille stems tog at center; flatten twisted area.
Rnd 5: Hold Front and Back of Coaster tog with chenille stems sandwiched between and twisted area at center; working through both thicknesses, ch 1, sc in each of next 14 sc, *[pull 1 leg of chenille stem close to last st completed, sc in each of next 4 sc] 3 times, pull 1 leg of chenille stem close to last st completed*, sc in each of next 12 sc, rep from *, join with sl st in beg sc. Leaving length of yarn, fasten off.
Thread tapestry needle with length of yarn and sew several small sts through both thicknesses to secure legs.
Using photo as a guide, sew 2 berry beads 1/4 inch apart over rnd 4. Place Coaster on flat surface, bend each leg upward at point that it protrudes from Coaster, down at center and then bend end slightly upward at tip. Rep in same manner with each rem leg.
