Materials (for one)

• Worsted yarn:
  • 2 oz. red
  • Small amount each green and yellow
• 4 1/2 oz. baby food jar
• Two 3mm wiggly eyes
• Craft glue
• Polyester fiberfill
• Tapestry needle
• E hook or hook needed to obtain gauge

Gauge
5 sc = 1";
5 sc rows = 1".

Basic Stitches:
Ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc.

Note: Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise stated. Mark first st of each rnd.

Apple
Rnd 1: Starting at bottom, with red, ch 2, 8 sc in second ch from hook. (8 sc made)
Rnd 2: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around. (12)
Rnd 3: 2 sc in each st around. (24)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (28)
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in each of next 2 sts) around. (36)
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 5 sts, sc in next 4 sts) around.

Fasten off.
Tack bottom of Leaves overlapped on top of Apple.

Worm
Rnd 1: With yellow, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around. (4 sc made)
Rnds 2-10: Sc in each st around. At end of last rnd, join with sl st in first sc. Leaving 8" for sewing, fasten off. Sew rnd 10 closed.
Glue eyes to rnd 9 of Worm 1/4" apart.
