Roses & Lace Scarf

Patterns can make excellent learning devices. We've all had the experience of working on a pattern that uses a stitch or technique that's brand-new to us. If you encounter difficulties when you're in this situation, rather than allowing frustration to take over, take a deep breath and work slowly and carefully. Read the pattern very closely to see if you've missed any clarifying details. If you still have questions, search for an online video that might show you how the stitch or technique is done.
Here's a free pattern for a lovely scarf, Roses & Lace Scarf, by Annette Stewart, that has great teaching potential. If you have trouble with reverse single crochet, it includes an excellent illustration of how to do this stitch; the pattern also includes a rose and decorative spiral that could adorn many crochet items.
Basic stitches combined with a few dazzling flourishes give high-fashion style to this gorgeous hot pink scarf that can be worn different ways for a variety of chic looks.
