Finished Size

14 x 45 inches

Materials

  • Size 10 crochet cotton (350 yds per ball):
    • 2 balls white
    • 1 ball each light yellow, dark yellow and light green
  • Size 6/1.80mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge

Flower = 1 inch in diameter; 3 dc rows = 1 inch

Pattern Notes

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Join rounds with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated.

Special Stitches

Triple treble crochet (trtr): Yo hook 4 times, insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw up a lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] 5 times.

Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in place indicated.

Flower

Make 32.

Rnd 1: With dark yellow, form a ring, leaving beg tail free, ch 1, 12 sc in ring, join in beg sc, fasten off. Draw beg tail tightly to close ring and secure. (12 sc)

Rnd 2: Attach light yellow with sl st in any sc of rnd 1, ch 3 (counts as first dc), (2 dc, ch 3, sl st) in same st as beg ch 3, sk next sc, *(sl st, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, sl st) in next sc, sk next sc, rep from * around, do not join, fasten off. (6 petals)

Leaf Group

Make 32.

Row 1: With light green, [ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in each of next 2 chs] twice, fasten off.

Curtain Top Band

Row 1: Ch 19, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 3 chs, ch 7, sk next 7 chs, dc in each of next 5 chs, turn. (5 dc, ch 7, 5 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 4 dc, dc in each of next 7 chs, dc in each of next 5 dc, turn. (17 dc)

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in each dc across, turn.

Row 4: Rep row 3.

Row 5: Ch 3, dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 7, sk next 7 dc, dc in each of next 5 dc, turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 7, sk next ch 7 sp, dc in each of next 5 dc, turn.

Rows 7-126: Rep rows 2-6.

Rows 127-130: Rep rows 2-5. At the end of last rep, do not fasten off.

Curtain

Row 1: Working in ends of Curtain Top Band rows, sl st over center of last row, ch 1, sc over same dc row, [ch 4, sc over next dc row] 128 times, turn. (129 ch 4 sps)

Row 2: Sl st into ch 4 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch 4 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch 4 sp, [ch 2, dc in next ch 4 sp] twice, ch 1, *shell (see Special Stitches) in next ch 4 sp, ch 1, [dc in next ch 4 sp, ch 2] twice, dc in next ch 4 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, ending with 4 dc in last ch 4 sp, turn. (31 shells)

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, [ch 2, dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, *shell in next ch 2 sp of next shell, ch 1, dc in next dc, [ch 2, dc in next dc] twice, ch 1, rep from * across, ending with dc in each of last 4 dc, turn.

Rows 4-28: Rep row 3.

Row 29: Sl st in next dc, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st as beg ch 3 (beg shell), ch 2, sc in next dc, ch 4, pick up a flower, sc between center 2 dc sts of any petal, ch 4, sk next dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, *shell in next shell, ch 2, sk next ch 1 sp, sc in next dc, ch 4, pick up next flower, sc between center 2 dc sts of any petal, ch 4, sk next dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, rep from * across, ending with sk first dc of 4-dc group, shell in next dc, fasten off, do not turn.

Row 30: Attach white in ch 2 sp of beg shell of row 29, ch 6, trtr (see Special Stitches) in same ch 2 sp as beg ch 6, *ch 2, sk next petal on flower, (sc, ch 3, sc) in sp between center 2 dc sts of next petal, ch 6, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, ch 2, sc in sp between center 2 dc sts of next petal, ch 5, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, ch 1, sc in same sp between center 2 dc sts of same petal, ch 6, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, ch 2, (sc, ch 3, sc) between center 2 dc sts of next petal, ch 2, 2 trtr in ch 2 sp of next shell, rep from * across, fasten off.

Top Curtain Trim

Row 1 (RS): Working over ends of rows of Curtain Top Band, attach white in end row, ch 1, sc in side edge of same dc, [ch 4, sc in side edge of next row] 128 times, turn. (129 ch 4 sps)

Row 2: Sl st into ch 4 sp, ch 5 (counts as first tr, ch 1), tr in same sp, (ch 1, tr) 3 times in same ch 4 sp as beg ch 5, *sc in next ch 4 sp, ch 5, sk next ch 4 sp, sc in next ch 4 sp, ({tr, ch 1} 4 times, tr) in next ch 4 sp, rep from * across, turn. (33 groups of tr sts)

Row 3: Sl st into ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in same ch 1 sp, [ch 4, sc in next ch 1 sp] 3 times, *ch 2, working over ch 5 sp of previous row, work 1 sc into ch 4 sp of row 1, ch 2, sc in next ch 1 sp, [ch 4, sc in next ch 1 sp] 3 times, rep from * across, fasten off.

Finishing

Using photo as a guide, with WS of Curtain facing, attach a Leaf Group with crochet hook to top edge of each flower.
