Botanica Pillows

This delightful and refreshing spring motif is a relatively easy design and a good way to try your hand at tapestry crochet. The colors in this design will add warmth to your decor and remind you that spring is just around the corner!

Materials
- Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight yarn (7 oz/364 yds/198g per skein):
- 2 skeins #385 royal (A)
- 1 skein each #336 warm brown (B), #661 frosty green (C), #631 light sage (D) and #316 soft white (E)
- Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- (2) 14 x 14-inch pillow forms
Gauge
4 dc = 1 inch; 2 dc rows = 1 inch
Pillow A
Front
Row 1 (RS): With A, ch 50, dc in 4th ch from hook (beg 3 sk chs count as a dc) and in each rem ch, turn. (48 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc on this and following rows), dc in each rem dc and in 3rd ch of beg 3 sk chs, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next 24 dc, changing to B in last dc, dc in next 2 dc, changing to A in last dc, dc in next 2 dc, changing to C in last dc, dc in next 8 dc, changing to A in last dc, dc in each rem dc and in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, turn.
Rows 4-28: Follow Chart A. At end of row 28, do not turn.
Edging
Ch 1, 3 sc in first dc-corner made, sc in each dc to turning ch-3, 3 sc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3-corner made. Working across next side in ends of rows in sps formed by edge dc and turning chs, 2 sc in each row. Working across next side in unused lps of beg ch, 3 sc in first lp-corner made, sc in each lp to last lp, 3 sc in last lp-corner made. Working across next side in ends of rows in sps formed by edge dc and beg chs, 2 sc in each row, join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Back
Row 1 (RS): With A, ch 50, dc in 4th ch from hook (beg 3 sk chs count as dc) and in each rem ch, turn. (48 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc on this and following rows), dc in each rem dc and in 3rd ch of beg 3 sk chs, turn.

Rows 4-28: Rep row 3. At end of row 28, do not turn.
Edging
Work same as Edging for Front.
Assembly
With A, sew Front and Back tog along 3 sides. Insert pillow form. Sew rem side.

Rows 4-28: Follow Chart B. At end of row 28, do not turn.

Work same as Edging for Front of Pillow A.
