Towel Edgings

These pretty towel edgings are perfect for when warm weather requires a smaller, lighter-weight project. Plus, they are the perfect size to easily stash in a bag when you travel.
Stitched from washable, long-wearing 100 percent cotton yarn, these simple edgings can be adapted to fit any size towel. Whether you keep them for yourself or give them as gifts, they are sure to become a favorite kitchen helper.
Blue Towel Edging

Materials
- Elmore-Pisgah Peaches & Creme medium (worsted) weight cotton yarn (2 1/2 oz/122 yds/71g per ball): 1 ball #26 light blue
- Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- Sewing needle
- Cotton dish towel
- Matching sewing thread
Gauge
4 sts = 1 inch
Pattern Note
Weave in ends as work progresses.
Instructions
Row 1 (WS): Make ch to desired length in multiple of 6 plus 2 at end, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 1, sc in first sc, *sk next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * across, fasten off.
Finishing
Sew Edging to 1 short end of towel.

Chocolate Towel Edging

- Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- Sewing needle
- Cotton dish towel
- Matching sewing thread
Gauge
4 sts = 1 inch

Weave in ends as work progresses.
Join rounds with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated.
Instructions
Rnd 1 (RS): With white, make ch to desired length in multiple of 6 plus 1 at end, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch to last ch, 3 sc in last ch, working in unused lps on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each ch across, join in beg ch-1, fasten off.
Row 2: Now working in rows, with daisy ombre, make slip knot on hook and join with sc in 2nd sc, *sk next 2 sc, 7 dc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * to first sc of last 3-sc group, fasten off, leaving rem sc unworked.
Finishing
Sew piece to 1 short end of towel.
